Today we are doing a keeper swap with the aquarium.

My name is Tera Prast.

I am a swing keeper here at Lake Superior Zoo.

So this is Tundra.

Couple of the aquarium staff came over here to see some behind the scenes actions of what we do.

And a group of us are going to head over to the aquarium tomorrow to see what they do over there.

In the bottom though you'll get sturgeon and walleye.

Starting, like, two weeks ago, we have a section of each other's facility go to the other of the two, to be able to observe what happens behind the scenes and learn a little more about the specific animal care, which helps us be able to know more about the industries and what practices we might be able to implement with our own animals.

The exchange of ideas.

So anything from enrichment to different diet options, husbandry things.

So it's like they have otters.

We have otters.

How do you care for your otters?

What works for them?

What works?

What can we implement here?

So things like that.

So, it's something we can do at different conferences and stuff, across the world, but those are always expensive and harder to get to, especially with a smaller zoo like us.

So having this resource right in our backyard in our town is just awesome to have.

And it's also just fun.

The zoo is cool.

The aquarium is cool.
